A sold-out collaboration between Pokémon and London's Natural History Museum — bringing the theme of 'Pokécology' to life through our exclusive product range of stationery, accessories, pins, bags, posters, and plush.
Pokémon's first ever pop-up of its kind with a UK museum needed a product range that could honour both brands equally. The Natural History Museum and Pokémon share a fascination for and focus on the natural world and its creatures, from their evolution to their environment. Translating that into physical product — at the quality and scale both brands demanded — was the central brief.
Design inspiration was drawn directly from the Museum's iconic building and architecture, as well as the beautiful naturalist sketches that fill the Museum's archives. Every product category needed to feel at home in both worlds simultaneously: authentic to Pokémon's visual identity while respectful of the Museum's heritage and scientific credibility.
With tickets selling out almost immediately and demand far exceeding initial projections, the pop-up was extended to give more fans the chance to attend, running from 26 January to 19 April 2026 in the Museum's Cranbourne Boutique — raising the stakes for flawless product delivery.
The pop-up's theme, 'Pokécology', was inspired by the acclaimed Japanese publication Pokécology: An Illustrated Guide to Pokémon Ecology, which explores how Pokémon live, interact with their environments, and adapt to habitats from deep forests to shadowy caves. Our product development work had to reflect that same depth of concept — not just branded merchandise, but items that genuinely embodied the collaboration's intellectual premise.
The collection featured exclusive items inspired by the Museum's iconic Hintze Hall and its beautiful botanical ceiling panels, reimagined with Grass-type Pokémon like Ivysaur and Victreebel. Alongside that, artwork was drawn from the classic naturalist books and scientific illustrations in the Museum's archives, showcasing Pokémon from Water-type to Bug-type, as well as designs celebrating Eevee's evolutions.
A2V was responsible for bags, keyrings, lanyards, magnets, pin badges, kitchenware, prints and stationery across the range — managing sourcing, quality, and logistics to ensure stock was ready for both the in-store pop-up and the online shop launch on the same day.

Products spanned stationery, pins, bags, posters, gold-plated decorations and a special Pikachu plush. Many of the products were made available online through the Natural History Museum's online shop from midday on 26 January, while select ranges also launched on Pokémon Center, the official UK store for Pokémon merchandise, in early February.
All profits from purchases made in the Museum shop and online store, including Pokémon products, support the Natural History Museum's charitable mission, including the work of 400 scientists conducting research and finding solutions to the planetary emergency. The result was a product range that sold out entirely — validating both the creative direction and the supply chain behind it.
